About SWB!

Something Went Bump is a podcast production company that helps creators turn early-stage ideas into distinctive shows, bring those shows to life, and build sustainable businesses around them. From developing original concepts and repeatable formats to production, audience growth, and monetization, we help creators make podcasts that stand out creatively and have room to grow.

Founded by podcast producer and development executive Sabrina Fonfeder, Something Went Bump draws on nearly a decade of experience across audio, television, and film. Sabrina has developed and produced fiction, nonfiction, and talk podcasts from concept through launch, including the hit horror-comedy Ruined with Halle Kiefer and Alison Leiby, named one of TIME’s 10 Best Podcasts of 2022; the Signal Award-winning A Good Cry with Michael Cruz Kayne; and Netflix’s The Hall: Honoring the Greats of Stand-Up.

What’s in a name?

“Something Went Bump” is about giving every podcast I work on a bump in creativity, audience, and revenue. The name also tips its hat to my love of horror and all things that go bump in the night. I dreamed up the company while pregnant, so there’s a baby bump in the mix, too. And last but not least, it’s a tribute to The Cat in the Hat, my favorite childhood book.
